RCGC members are invited to participate in an exciting one-time opportunity to help extend Rotary’s visibility and mission in our community through a special grant-making process.
The Club Board has $15,000 available for this grant-making process, a result of a slowly accumulating club fund balance in recent years. A special funds Work Group was formed of interested club members to develop and manage the process, and evaluate the applications for funding.
The grant application is available here. It is not lengthy, and shouldn’t take long to complete.
A key requirement of this process is that members be highly involved, so only RCGC members can serve as grant applicants. Members then designate a local non-profit or other recipient as the grant beneficiary. This ensures the ongoing connection to Rotary and its mission.
Grant proposals should relate to at least one of Rotary’s Avenues of Service — community, youth, vocational, or international. Programs or projects should increase Rotary’s visibility in the community through one-time or ongoing efforts.
The application deadline is Friday, October 4, 5:00 pm. The Work Group’s goal is to distribute all grant funds by the end of December. Grant program/project recipients will be expected to make a presentation to the Rotary club before June 30 of 2020, at which time the Special Funds Work Group will sunset. The Work Group will hold an informal Q&A session after the regular club meeting on September 6 to answer questions.
This is a unique opportunity to showcase Rotary and support innovating and promising initiatives. For questions please contact Alicia Ritter via email or (208) 830-6520.
